Creating Opportunity.Building Community.Elevating the Next Generation.

We expand access to beach volleyball, surfing and ocean sports for Hawaiʻi’s youth — creating pathways from a first day on the beach to high-school, collegiate and competitive opportunities.

Why we exist

Talent is everywhere.Opportunity is not.

Training, equipment, tournament fees, inter-island airfare and travel can place meaningful opportunities beyond the reach of many Hawaiʻi families. KŪLIA exists to help close that gap.

“A community is stronger when every keiki has a chance to reach their potential.”

Our five mission pillars

More than sports. A brighter tomorrow.

The KŪLIA pathway

From a first day on the beach to a brighter tomorrow.

A young person should be able to discover a sport in their own community, develop their ability, see a real pathway forward, and one day return to create opportunity for someone else.

Community & local partnerships

Good things grow when we show up together.

Families, local businesses, coaches and volunteers help make the beach a place to connect. Shared days on the sand—and support from local partners—bring our community together.

From supporting a league night to helping young athletes get on the sand, there is a place for local partners in KŪLIA’s mission.

Be part of the community

Island-wide vision

One Mission.Many Communities.

  • Oʻahu
  • Maui
  • Hawaiʻi Island
  • Kauaʻi
  • Molokaʻi
  • Lānaʻi

Each community is different. KŪLIA will listen first, partner locally and build programs that make the greatest impact for the people and places they serve.

A Stronger Hawaiʻi Together

How we will measure success

Not by dollars raised. By lives changed.

Success will not be measured simply by how much money KŪLIA raises. These are the numbers we intend to be accountable for.

Our promise to Hawaiʻi

We will use every court built, every clinic held, every partnership formed and every dollar donated to create meaningful opportunity for young people.

We will respect the beaches and communities entrusted to us. We will make access a priority. We will help young athletes dream beyond what their financial circumstances might otherwise allow. And as they grow, we will encourage them to return that opportunity to the generation behind them.
